Sky window

The predominant central display feature of PSC is a chart of the sky. Objects with no size are drawn with a brightness and size scaled according to how they compare with the limiting magnitude. Objects with finite size are drawn to proper scale if, at the current field size, their size is larger than their size based upon their magnitude. Colors of stars are determined by their spectral class, if known. Deep sky objects are drawn with symbols denoting their basic type. Supporting information are drawn around the edges:
